The week between Palm Sunday (yesterday) and Easter Sunday (next Sunday) is known as Holy Week. It was the culmination of why Jesus came to Earth- to die for the sins of humanity, and through his resurrection, make us right with God. This week I will share different qualities of who Jesus is and their significance in my life.

Jesus is…Lord

The definition of Lord:
A person who has authority, control, or power over others; a master, chief, or ruler.

How do you respond to authority in your life? What do you think about the idea of someone else controlling your life? I don’t know about you, but the thought of someone having power over me is scary. Control comes so naturally to us, doesn’t it? We control what career we want, what size of family we have, and what neighborhood we live in. The thought of someone having that control is tough. Giving it up isn’t easy.

While I learned about who Jesus was at a young age, I didn’t give Him control of my life until I was seventeen. And when I did, my life was transformed. I gave Jesus control when I was lost and broken, with no where to turn. He quickly began the process of healing me, restoring me, and changing my heart and my life. The restoration process lasted three years, and afterward, I came out a new person. Not a perfect person mind you, a new person in Christ.

  • Earthly desires turned to godly desires.
  • Carnal thoughts were replaced by spiritual thinkings.
  • Small dreams became big dreams.

Making Jesus Lord of my life was the best decision I ever made. He has blessed me far greater than I ever imagined. He fills me with hope and purpose and gives me an everlasting joy and peace that doesn’t compare with any pleasure this world could offer.

Have a experienced suffering and sorrow? Most definitely. But I don’t go through it alone. Jesus walks with me every step of the way leading me through even the murky waters of life.

Is Jesus Lord of your life? If not, ask Him to be, and let Him transform your life. You won’t regret it!
