This is one of my most favorite recipes to make during the holidays. For three reasons:
1. It’s so yummy.
2. It’s super easy.
3. It’s a great gift.

I got the recipe from Kraft foods about five years ago and have found a reason to make them ever since. This year I put them in little gift boxes and tomorrow I am taking them up to the gym  to give out to the front desk girl, childcare worker, & cleaning lady. In addition I have two tins-  one for the sales team and one for the trainers…since the trainers are in need of truffles and all.

I’ve tweaked a little here and there (though there’s not much to tweak). Here’s what I did this time.

They used to be called “Oreo Truffles”,

but now I’m calling them “Candy Cane Truffles” because I just love Trader Joe’s, Candy Cane Joe-Joe’s.(You can make these with whatever type of Oreo-type cookie you want though.)

Candy Cane Truffles
Ingredients:

1 pkg. Candy Cane Joe-Joe’s crushed (a food processor works great for crushing)
1 8oz pkg. cream cheese softened
6 oz chocolate (whatever type of chocolate you like; I used 60% ghirardelli bittersweet chocolate)
crushed candy canes

Mix crushed cookies and cream cheese together. Roll into balls. Freeze for 10 min. In the meantime melt the chocolate (melt a tbsp or two of butter to make more smooth). Dip the balls into the chocolate and sprinkle with crushed candy cane. Refrigerate.
