For the last few weeks I’ve been working on redecorating our guest room/office.  Filipe gave me the green light to re-do it any way I wanted- so I took him up on it!

The primary purpose for the room is for studying and writing (its secondary purpose is for you- guest!).  I spent some time thinking about the right environment to think and write without clutter and distractions, yet still be able to work and organize all of our junk stuff.

Here’s a glimpse into what it all looks like so far.

First up:  The writing table- my favorite thing in the room- so far.  This was the first thing I looked for.  I was on a search for a vintage blue desk.  There was an amazing one I found online- for $1K plus.  I found this on craigslist for $60.  After painting it and putting on new knobs- it’s pretty close.  And something about having done it myself makes me like it even more.

The library.  Thanks to IKEA.

The side table.  I found this at a thrift store in San Francisco- it was green camouflage.  It’s sole purpose is for the mini Keurig that I’m going to put in there.

I still have the wall space to figure out.  I’ve already bought and returned two pictures.  Looking for one of these, but I want a sign style.

What do you think?  Any suggestions for wall decor?!
