Throughout the last week I’ve been praying and asking God what to focus on this year. From the first day I felt like He gave me a prompting for something, but I kept waiting for more.
Last year I had two words for 2011, and at first, I felt like I needed two this year. But as the week went on I’ve come to the conclusion that this year, it’s just one.
My challenge for 2012 is:
Be bold with my faith.
Be bold as a wife.
Be bold as a mom.
Be bold as a friend.
Be bold as a writer.
My prayer is that at the end of 2012 I will be confident knowing that I didn’t hold anything back and didn’t live it in fear.
Boldness doesn’t come naturally for me. It’s more natural for me to be passive and let whatever happens happen. But, natural or not, boldness is the area God is calling me to step up in this year.
There will be more practical steps I make in what this will look like for me this year, but this is my starting point.
“Be strong and bold; have no fear or dread of them, because it is the Lord your God who goes with you; he will not fail you or forsake you.” Deut. 31:6 NRS
What about you? Any words for the year?
