Filipe and I are teaching a marriage workshop this summer called, “The Oneness Experience”. We will spend ten weeks discussing what “becoming one” means and how our marriages can reflect that in a biblical way.

We will talk about what it means to be one…

  • emotionally
  • spiritually
  • relationally
  • physically

We will also talk about the different elements of love (“the four loves”), the needs of men and women, having a marriage-focused home, and the significance of the elements in a marriage ceremony. We will conclude the series by recommitting ourselves to our spouse and say our vows to each other once again.

This topic is something Filipe and I both love to teach on because we were changed by it. When we started dating in the fall of 2001 we started discussing this topic (not as clearly as we do now) and it’s what helped us remain pure before marriage and what has blessed us in our marriage.

Ever since Filipe started pastoring he’s taught a great deal on this subject. We’re excited to take all that we’ve both learned about marriage and “becoming one” over the last nine years and help others understand it and grow in their intimacy the way God designed. I’m sure we’ll learn much more in the process.

If you’re a Bay area local, we would love for you to join us. We are meeting in the foyer at the South Bay Campus from 7-8:30pm. Our first meeting is tomorrow, June 12th.

Genesis 2:22-24
Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib and brought her to Adam. “At last!” Adam exclaimed. “She is part of my own flesh and bone! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken out of a man.”This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.
