We’re getting into the Christmas spirit around here- most of us are at least! A couple weeks ago we went to a Christmas tree lighting at Santana Row in San Jose. It was lots of fun despite Lily getting scared over EVERYTHING she saw- especially Christmas trees! Here are a few of her “i’m scared” incidents over the last couple weeks concerning Christmas trees.

It all started at Santana Row with this blue dog- she was terrified of this blue dog- though Cailyn loved him.
So, we moved over to the stage to hear the music & dancing…
still scared…notice the crying…
things started getting better…
till the tree was lit- more crying there…
We finally walked over to Peets coffee and managed to have an enjoyable evening with the rest of our friends.

Then, Thanksgiving weekend, we went to the a Christmas Tree Farm in the hills of Los Gatos. It was morning time- clear skies and what do ya know- Lily’s scared of the Christmas trees!
As we got out of the car, the crying began…

Cailyn loved it.

Lily finally got down and started enjoying herself- though she still kept saying she wanted to go back to the car.

we quickly found a tree…

Filipe cut it down, and we were on our way within about 20 minutes.
We went and got lunch, then went home for naps. When Lily woke up from her nap that afternoon, the tree was set up in the living room. It took about an hour for her to come in the room without hesitation, but I think she’s conquered her fear of Christmas trees. I think.

This past weekend we went to Pier 39 in San Francisco for the day. The pier was all decorated with an enormous Christmas Tree at the entrance. As we started getting closer- Lily started getting scared again! So we hurried on by before the crying turned into screaming. On our way out she was able to at least stand in front of the tree without crying.

Here is a little clip of her love/hate relationship with Christmas trees- sorry its a little shaky.
