This week Filipe and I celebrating our 10 year anniversary cruising the Caribbean. While we’re snorkeling and enjoying the sun, I thought I’d share with you ten of my favorite things about the last ten years.

#10 Ministry Life

When Filipe and I got married he worked as an associate college pastor at our local church while I worked as his admin assistant. Our roles have grown and changed over the last ten years, but I’ve only grown in my love for ministry life.

I love being in ministry with Filipe. I can’t imagine doing anything else with him. Filipe and I met leading a small group together in college. And we’ve been doing it ever since.

#9 Compassion/Global Missions

Filipe is one of the most compassionate people I’ve ever met. (And I’m not just saying that because I’m married to him.) His gift of mercy is incredible. We currently sponsor four children around the world and one missionary. We’ve gone on mission trips to the Dominican Republic and Brazil together, Filipe to Ethiopia. Whenever we have the opportunity to be involved in serving together or missions projects it strengthens us as a couple. I love this. It requires faith, but it’s worth it.

#8 Traveling

Whether we’re going abroad or a few hours away, I love traveling together, exploring together, and experiencing new places together.

#7 Moving to CA

Five years into our marriage we went from college ministry to church planting. Joining the South Bay Team was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Our faith has been tested, we’ve been pushed into unfamiliar territory, but the results have been incredible. Seeing the Bay area reached with the Gospel is so rewarding. And did I mention we get to do it in one of the most beautiful places in the country.

More to come…
