I believe with all my heart that when we partner with God, He will give us every ounce of grace and strength we need to do exactly what He puts in front of us to do.
In Matthew 11:30, Jesus said, “My yoke is easy and my burden is light”, and I think He really means it.
That doesn’t mean the work won’t be hard or seem scary. It means the work He has for us is fitted just for us.
But do we believe it?
Do we trust Him?
Too many times the expectations we have for ourselves are astronomically higher than the ones God has for us. So often we take matters into our own hands and put higher expectations on ourselves than God gives to us.
But when God wants us to grow in an area, He will give us all we need to get there. Is it going to be hard work? Probably. But it will be life-giving work. The kind of work that gives you more joy more than anxiety. More passion than frustration.
When we “yoke” (connect) ourselves with our Creator, His work brings us joy and purpose. And with it comes the feeling that we were created just for that. And it’s one of the best feelings in the world.
I’ve experienced that exact feeling just this week as I focus on a new area this year. But instead of feeling more pressure (like I once did), now I see more opportunities to learn and grow. Ways God wants me to get better and serve. And that fires me up and makes me want to get out of bed in the morning.
God leads us with love and tenderness, kindness and compassion. He won’t push us into back-breaking labor that our bodies can’t handle or our minds can’t cope with. He won’t take us places without equipping us for that place.
Reach out to God, stay connected with Him, and experience the joy of working out your purpose each and every day in the way He created you to.
